Pioneer Park to Pike’s Landing Float
We’re excited to introduce a new day trip option in 2026:
Self-Guided Chena River Float | Shuttle Included
The Pioneer Park to Pike’s Landing Float is CanoeAlaska’s primary day trip for 2026, offering an easy, scenic paddle on the Chena River with the convenience of a return shuttle. After your float, Pike’s Landing restaurant is located right at the finish, with food and drinks available on the riverfront deck or indoors. This relaxed float is designed for guests who want to enjoy the river without complicated logistics or tight schedules.
Ideal for families, first-time paddlers, and visitors to Fairbanks, this trip is especially popular with guests staying at Pike’s Waterfront Lodge and the Princess Hotel, as well as locals looking for a low-stress way to spend time on the water.
Enjoy a calm, self-guided float from Pioneer Park to Pike’s Landing, paddling at your own pace along a gentle section of the Chena River that winds through Fairbanks.
Guests may choose to rent a canoe, kayak, or paddleboard, and all rentals include paddles and comfortable universal fit life vests. The slow-moving water and easy paddling make this trip a great choice for kids and anyone new to canoeing, kayaking, or stand-up paddleboarding.
This float is only 10–20 minutes shorter than the Pioneer Park to Pump House trip, offering nearly the same on-the-water experience in a slightly more compact and convenient format. Most guests spend about two hours on the river, with plenty of time to relax, paddle, and enjoy the scenery along the way.
At the end of your float, you’ll arrive at Pike’s Landing, where you can unwind, enjoy food and drinks, and take in river views before boarding our scheduled shuttle back to CanoeAlaska at Pioneer Park. Pike’s Landing is open daily from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm, making it easy to enjoy lunch, dinner, or a drink after your paddle. Whether you choose to sit on the deck or relax indoors, there’s no rush — this trip is all about enjoying a laid-back day on the river.
